Process Flow of the Fully Automatic Potato and Cassava Starch Production Line System
The fully automatic potato and cassava starch production line is a complete equipment system designed to extract and process starch from tuberous raw materials such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, and cassava
The tuber starch production line is a complete equipment system specifically designed for extracting and processing starch from tuber raw materials such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, and cassava. With its automated and highly efficient production process, it achieves end-to-end operations from raw material processing to finished starch production, and is widely used in various fields such as food and chemicals.
The core process of the production line is scientifically designed based on the characteristics of the raw materials and is broadly divided into several key stages: First comes raw material washing and pretreatment, where fresh tubers are fed into the washing machine via conveying equipment. Soil on the surface of the raw materials is removed using screw conveyors and spray washing, followed by deep cleaning using paddle washers.
Next comes the crushing and grinding stage. The cleaned tubers are conveyed to a crusher or grinding equipment, where they are broken down into a slurry by high-speed rotating blades or a grinding mill. This process fully releases the starch granules from the tuber cells, laying the foundation for subsequent separation.
Separation and purification are critical steps for ensuring starch quality. The crushed slurry is processed through equipment such as centrifugal screens and hydrocyclones. By exploiting the density differences between starch and impurities like fiber and protein, fiber and residues are separated out, yielding a relatively pure starch slurry. Subsequently, the starch slurry is dehydrated using sedimentation and dewatering equipment (such as vacuum filters and centrifuges) to form wet starch with a low moisture content.
The final stage involves drying and finished product processing. The wet starch is fed into a dryer (commonly a fluidized-bed dryer or drum dryer) and rapidly dried at an appropriate temperature to remove excess moisture, bringing the starch moisture content to the required standard. The dried starch is then screened to remove lumps and impurities, followed by weighing and packaging, resulting in finished starch ready for direct sale or further processing.
This production line can be flexibly configured according to raw material types and capacity requirements, making it suitable for both small-scale batch production in workshops and large-scale processing in industrial plants. With a high degree of automation, it not only significantly reduces labor costs but also ensures consistent quality indicators—such as starch purity and whiteness—through precise control of production parameters, thereby providing a reliable supply of high-quality raw materials for downstream industries.
